Enable encrypted Cloud Sync
Protect Aura history for one project with a recovery code you control.
Use this guide with Aura
Open Aura, then keep this guide beside it while you follow the steps. Aura does not receive the page text, your account, your project, or anything you typed.
If nothing opens, start Aura normally. The written steps still work.
Before you start
- Aura Pro is active.
- The project you want to sync is selected.
- You have a secure place outside this computer for the recovery code.
Plan and model funding
Cloud Sync is a Pro continuity feature. Enabling or syncing it does not spend model funding.
Say this in ordinary language
No prompt is required.
Steps

Open Settings, then Cloud.
What you should see: Private Cloud Sync explains that content is encrypted on a trusted device before upload.

Select Generate Recovery Code and save the code somewhere outside this computer.
What you should see: Aura shows the recovery code once and waits for your confirmation.

Check I saved this code somewhere outside this computer, then select Confirm and Enable Cloud Setup.
What you should see: Aura confirms the recovery setup without exposing the code again.

Select Enable Encrypted Sync for This Project.
What you should see: The project shows Cloud Sync enabled and the encrypted size.

Select Sync History Now.
What you should see: Aura reports a successful sync or a specific error while leaving the local project unaffected.
What Aura may change
Aura encrypts supported continuity data on this trusted device and uploads ciphertext. Cloud Sync is optional, off by default, and does not upload project content until recovery setup is confirmed.
How to verify it worked
The selected project shows Cloud Sync enabled and a successful sync time. Local projects and Local Loops still work when sync is paused.
Undo or recover
Use Pause Cloud Sync to stop uploads while keeping the encrypted workspace, or Delete Cloud Data to schedule deletion without deleting local project files.
Common problems
- Aura cannot retrieve a lost recovery code.
- If background sync needs attention, use Sync History Now; the local project remains available.
