Understand Pro storage, processing, and retention
See what Aura keeps in the cloud, when cloud processing happens, and what you can export or delete.
Use this guide with Aura
Open Aura, then keep this guide beside it while you follow the steps. Aura does not receive the page text, your account, your project, or anything you typed.
If nothing opens, start Aura normally. The written steps still work.
Before you start
- Aura Pro is active.
- Open Aura on a device you trust.
- Select a project if you want to review its Cloud Sync status.
Plan and model funding
Pro pays for Cloud Sync and the option to continue a Loop while this device is off. Model usage is separate and uses the eligible provider key or Aura Balance you select.
Say this in ordinary language
No prompt is required.
Steps
-
1
Open Settings, then Cloud, and read the Private Cloud Sync explanation before enabling anything.
What you should see: Aura says Cloud Sync is optional and off by default, and that local projects, local history, and Local Loops continue without it.
-
2
Compare Cloud Sync with Continue when this device is off.
What you should see: Cloud Sync provides encrypted continuity for the selected project. A Loop uses isolated cloud processing only when you explicitly choose Continue when this device is off.
-
3
If Cloud Sync is enabled, review the project status and encrypted size.
What you should see: Aura shows whether syncing is enabled or paused, the encrypted storage amount, and the latest available sync status.
-
4
Use Sync and Export Aura Data before changing retention or deletion settings.
What you should see: Aura prepares an export while leaving the local project files in place.
-
5
Review Pause Cloud Sync and Delete Cloud Data without confirming a destructive action you do not want.
What you should see: Pausing stops automatic uploads but keeps the encrypted workspace. Deletion is scheduled only after confirmation and includes a 30-day recovery window.
-
6
Read the Pro-ended state if it applies to your account.
What you should see: Aura keeps the encrypted workspace read-only and available for export until the displayed recovery deadline. Local project files remain unaffected.
What Aura may change
Reading the page changes nothing. Enabling Cloud Sync uploads client-encrypted continuity data for the selected project. Pausing stops automatic uploads. Confirming deletion schedules the encrypted cloud workspace for deletion after the recovery window; none of these actions deletes local project files.
How to verify it worked
The Cloud page identifies the selected project, shows whether syncing is enabled or paused, and displays the encrypted storage amount or the current recovery deadline. Local work remains available when Cloud Sync is paused.
Undo or recover
Resume Cloud Sync after pausing it. During the displayed recovery window, use Cancel Deletion and Restore Sync when Pro is active, or renew Pro and follow the offered recovery path. Export Aura data before the deadline if you do not want to renew.
Common problems
- Cloud Sync does not make every Loop a cloud job; device-off processing starts only after you explicitly choose it.
- A Pro subscription does not fund model requests. Select an eligible personal or organization provider key, or use available Aura Balance.
- Aura cannot recover a lost encryption recovery code, so keep it somewhere outside this computer.
